RUN FOR COVER
Hi All
I’ve entered myself in the North Face 100 which starts on Saturday the 18th May 2013.
The North Face 100 is Australia's premier trail running event, held in the Blue Mountains National Park in New South Wales.
The North Face 100 covers 100km over 4200 metres of elevation changes through the World Heritage-listed Blue Mountains west of Sydney. Starting and finishing in Leura, the race passes through five checkpoints, with support crew permitted at the final three. It has a cut-off time of 28 hrs to complete the course.
Last year of the 1000 competitors that started, only around 600 completed the course. Ultra-running legend Dean Karnazes rates it as “the hardest 100-kilometre race I’ve ever done”.
I’ve chosen to raise money for Kids Under Cover, which is a not-for-profit organisation operating in Victoria, Queensland and the ACT. Kids Under Cover build homes and provide scholarships for homeless and at risk young people. Their vision is for all young people to have the opportunity to reach their full potential.
Please help me in raising a bit of money for this very worthwhile charity so that they may continue with their amazing work. Any amount (small or large) would be greatly appreciated.
Please make a secure online donation to my page and help me in this great cause.
All donations over $2 are tax deductable. All money donated goes directly to Kids Under Cover.
I thank you in advance for your generosity.
Peter

Kids Under Cover
Being homeless can happen to anyone.
On any given night, there are more than 116,000 people experiencing homelessness in Australia and nearly half of these are under the age of 25.*
For more than 30 years, Kids Under Cover has been working to prevent youth homelessness.
We know that if young people are not properly supported when they first experience homelessness, they have a higher chance of becoming homeless in their adult lives. Around 40% of homeless adults were first homeless as young people.**
In our work, we focus on early identification and prevention of youth homelessness, creating a proactive rather than a reactive approach to this very complex issue. We do this by building homes and providing scholarships for homeless and at-risk young people.
